Clerkenwell Design Week 2022 brings elevated visual appeal to the outdoors

Exhibitors at this year's festival will be showing a wide range of versatile furniture styles and designs for curated exteriors

Designers such as Hay, Ethimo, and S•CAB will be showing recent products, editions, or collections. Additional outdoor assortments will be featured from OMK 1965, Dare, Cane-line, Case Furniture, Arper, and Kettal. The selections presented will emphasize flexibility and versatility, while bringing aesthetic appeal, visual presence, and design quality to an array of exterior spaces. The stylistic scope to be shown is perfect for curating the quintessential, personalized, and vibrant summer space – whether that involves designing an elevated tennis court atmosphere or the setting for an elegant open-air dinner party. Collections to be shown at Clerkenwell Design Week will include:

Hay

Designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, the Balcony Collection is one of Hay’s new outdoor additions. The series features a chair, dining table, small table, bench, and stool. It’s offered in a variety of colours and includes a series of cushions, meaning the collection can be suited to any style. Another new addition, the Palissade Park Bench, makes a strong visual statement through its striking framing effect.

Ethimo

Ethimo will show multiple new outdoor collections, including Ace by Patrick Norguet. The collection was designed to furnish tennis courts, pools, athletic clubs, and exclusive resorts. The various configurations that can be created highlight the project’s flexibility and versatility, intended not only for professional circuits and major sporting events, but also for normal athletic activities. Additional new collections from Ethimo include Calipso, Rotin, and Sling Chair.

S•CAB

S•CAB will exhibit three of its most recent collections: the Lisa Swing by Marcello Ziliani, a hanging armchair in various playful colours; the Lisa Sofa by Marcello Ziliani, comprising a steel frame and plush, vibrant cushions; and the Squid table by RadiceOrlandini DesignStudio, which has structural aspects that allow for flexible and customizable shapes and sizes.

OMK 1965

OMK 1965 is celebrating 50 years of their notable Omkstak chair design in 2022. The Omkstak was designed for both the domestic and commercial markets and features a tubular frame with pressed panels that are light enough to be stacked in significant quantities. Perfectly suited to both indoor and outdoor spaces, the design is available in a range of colours and adds a splash of vibrancy to any environment.

Kettal

Kettal's Ringer collection by Michael Anastassiades and Giro collection by Vincent Van Duysen are two of its newest selections to be presented. The Giro collection features armchairs and coffee tables with tactility and pure lines, allowing the designs to blend in multiple environments. The Ringer collection comprises an armchair that was developed as a minimal approach to Café dining furniture.

Clerkenwell Design Week will return to London on the 24 – 26 May after a two-year hiatus, and this year’s edition is set to be the biggest year yet. You can view the image highlights from the aforementioned outdoor furniture designers HERE and the latest press release and a selection of images HERE.
